(1) The Government of Nepal shall set a date for local level elections. But before setting the date of such election, the Government of Nepal should consult the Commission.
(2) If it is not possible to complete the election in one phase on the date specified in sub-section (1), separate dates can also be set to complete the election in two or more phases so that the election starts from the specified date.
(3) When fixing the election date according to sub-section (2), in general: Election of all local level members of a province should be done in one stage.
(4) Elections held on separate dates as per sub-section (2) shall be deemed to have been held on the date specified as per sub-section (1).
(5) In accordance with sub-sections (1) and (2), notice of election date shall be published in the Nepal Gazette.
